Canal Life

Webbed feet paddle below calm still waters, gliding gracefully forward

Serenity surrounding motion, gentle breeze ruffles feathers

Narrow boats moored, cast shade from the glare of the midday sun

Gathering clouds darken, curtain of rain, ripples on the water

Warmth fades as night falls, pervasive silence as motion ceases

Clouds clear, moon shines bright on calm still waters
