I award this to myself in recognition of writing 50 poems in just 9 weeks, having never written poetry before. I am amazed and astounded that I managed to write even one poem, I certainly couldn’t imagine reaching 50!
I find my thoughts turn to poetry when I’m feeling calm and also when depression has me in its grip. Poetry helps me to express things that I probably wouldn’t say out loud, to release emotion, to be creative and to experiment with just how many ways I can write of triumph over adversity, of darkness and light, sun, rain, shadows.
In honour of reaching this milestone in a very short 9 weeks (did I mention that already??!!) I am going to share with you my top 9 poems, it may be one from each week or a whole bunch that I wrote recently. It will take a while to decide that’s for certain.
Once again I thank you all for reading and for your kind comments and likes, I appreciate every one.
