Lost at Sea (poem)

Lost at sea, a boat
adrift
on stormy waters
crashing waves swell
and die, the boat
floating away
the shore, distant
intangible
slips from memory
as the oars slip
and sink into the ocean
lost at sea, a boat
drifting
storm clouds gather
the sky, a dark canopy
as blustery winds
rock and pitch
the boat, swept
disoriented
new faith bestowed
of safe harbour
as land fills the horizon
lost at sea, a boat
guided
by crashing waves
and blustery winds
swept on tides
it sways and rocks
drifts and floats
onwards
safe harbour granted
the boat no longer
lost at sea, adrift

  1. Life is like this – we continue to find ourselves adrift before we can find the hope within those safe harbours. Love this, Karen. Thanks again for sharing it!
