With Open Eyes (poem)

open your eyes to what you see
and wonder at the world’s beauty
from clouds that float in the clear blue sky
to the garden and buzzing bees that fly
the delicacy of a butterfly’s wing
and trilling melody as birds sing
our beautiful land, so vibrant and green
nourished by rain, washing it clean
a rainbow arcs across the land
and shimmering beaches of golden sand
the dew that glistens on blades of grass
and wildflowers that bloom en masse
the notable beauty around us is free
just open your eyes, so you can see
