Lovers (poem)

Somewhat annoyingly I wrote a poem entitled “The Tide” on Wednesday morning. But to challenge my creativity I will be creating a new, original poem for the daily prompt…

Lovers

The tide comes quickly now
washing foam onto the beach
As we stand on golden sand
warming our bare feet

Blazing sunset of fiery gold
reflects upon the sea
The beach now deserted
it’s only you and me

The chill of night upon us
we turn and head inland
Two lovers at the shoreline
walking hand in hand
