Passing time (poem)

Passing time
Leaves no trace
As hands rotate
On the clock face

Yet, passing time
On Summer days
Sees blooming plants
And fields of maize
When Summer ends
We walk the streets
Crunch Autumn leaves
Beneath our feet
As Winter comes
With ice and snow
We wrap up warm
Our cheeks aglow
On frosty mornings
We wait for Spring
As life renews
And blackbirds sing

Passing time
Leaves no trace
As hands rotate
On the clock face
But time is skewed
And leaves its marks
Etched on our skin
And in our hearts
Our bodies age
Memories remain
As we grow older
And seasons change
