The big news of the week is that I made it to the running club training session! I was late as I hadn’t realised what the time was, I’d also just eaten my evening meal, so wasn’t in the best state for training. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and I will be going back next week – on time and before eating.
Also, my son and I went to a different parkrun this week, we did a very respectable 33.5 minutes which considering the heat, the sun, the lack of shade and breeze was as good as it was ever going to be. Back to our home run for the next four weeks as I have volunteered to be tail walker, and now I’m on the volunteer rota it’s hard to say no.
In addition to running club and parkrun, I have done two other early morning runs taking my distance for the week to 23.6km. Next week I will be doing a 6k virtual run for my shiny-rainbow-heart-medal and the week after I might (if it’s cooler) attempt my first half marathon distance, and then on the 22nd is my 10k Race for Life. Looking forward to it all and the ice creams I will inevitably eat afterwards!
