In all the excitement of Race for Life last week, I completely forgot to mention that I’ve joined our village running club which means I am a club affiliated member of England Athletics… this is the girl who “doesn’t do running”!
Subsequent to the Race for Life, I expected to feel the effort that I’d put into it but was pleased that the only after effect was a stiff right ankle, enough to give me a pass from running club training! I went to the session with my son, we actually cycled to it, he ran while I chatted to one of the coaches and learnt some more names, which is just as useful as training especially as I’ve now officially met the lovely ladies captain.
This week I’ve run an evening 5k (too hot!) and an early morning 10k (was obviously too asleep at 5.20am to notice I’d put on my trainers instead of my running shoes – oops). And was tail walker at parkrun.
