Twitter poetry (8)

I have been busy with planning for my new book and marketing my current book this past week, so my engagement with twitter has been minimal.

Autumn Leaves
Summer rain soaked grass
Sparkling fresh on the ground
Russet reds and orange hues
Leaves of green turning brown
Vibrant colours high on trees
Drifting down in autumn breeze

no longer there
do you even care?
your friendship superficial

sun behind clouds
shade heart and soul
since you left

Dolce (meaning sweet)
dolce scent of orange blossom
and romance fills the air

coarse sand clings to skin
salty seawater to my hair

existence and experiences
determined by fate
are not always fair

my body bruised
my mind broken
my fragile ego crushed

you write your unique future
through living your own way

I hope all’s going well with the planning & marketing – sounds like you’ve got a lot to keep busy with! I love the pieces you’ve shared; the autumn poem describes what I love about autumn (the leaves & colours being the main/only part as I don’t like the chill!) and the one titled Unique is a short yet powerful reminder of the power we have living our individual lives.xx

I think it is going well. I’m not sure my flyers are having an impact but I’m hoping the exposure from being resident poet in our village magazine will. It’s hard to know if there are no sales, but maybe people will find me on here and social media.
Yes, I love autumn it’s so beautiful.
      Hope you’re OK xx
