National Poetry Month 6: Bee Happy (poem)

Today I am defying my emotions in composing something joyous… at least that’s the plan.  And then I can return to the miasma of gloom.

Bee Happy

does a bee ever feel down
rest on a flower
hide on the ground
or is a bee
more often happy
to be out of the hive
from 9 to 5
he works so hard in daylight hours
buzzing around between the flowers
but does a bee want more from life
take a trip with his bee-loved wife
just sit and watch the world go by
from their vantage point on high
and dream of all the sites they’d see
but most of all just bee happy!
