All That Glitters (poem)

So I’ve had this idea for a children’s book (think Julia Donaldson’s rhyming style with awesome illustrations) it’s in the very, very early stages of development and may not ever go anywhere if I can’t determine a storyline.  However, I like the title All That Glitters and am sure I can work something around this title.  But while I do some top quality thinking I’ll just throw out a poem or two…

All That Glitters

High in the treetops
Set over the land
Is a bundle of twigs
A palace so grand
This nest is a home
for a beautiful bird
Where the chattering voice
Of the magpie is heard

It flies from the nest
And circles around
Looking for treasure
Down on the ground
No interest in glitter
Neither in gold
Blaming the magpie
This thief so bold
