I’m in danger of going blog-crazy I have so much to write about. Today I’ll start with my return to the dreaded gym cue dramatic music…
Last week I wrote about the problems of following a healthy diet when surrounded by chocolate, it’s tough for sure. I have been trying very unsuccessfully to rein in my unhealthy eating habits and lose all those extra lbs that not running and Christmas goodies have added to my waistline.
Let’s just say the scales are not my friend right now, they consistently tell me that I’m 10lbs plus over my pre-injury weight, and I’ve also resorted to some old size 12 jeans instead of forcibly squeezing my belly into my size 10s. I won’t horrify you with an actual image!
Today, a line has been drawn.
I will not allow my belly fat to linger, it’s time for the battle to begin.
Day 1: Target -12lbs
8.30am, before breakfast, and I’m at the gym with one other committed soul, my plan to do 30 minutes on the bike. Cued up some classic U2 via Amazon music on my phone, reading material on WordPress, and those 30 minutes flew by. Remebering that my physio had advised adding some leg exercises at the gym, I dutifully completed 10 reps on the following leg focused equipment; purposely starting small as I definitely don’t want to aggravate my injury.
Feeling great, in a yay go me kind of way, that I’d started the week with a motivated attitude I decided that I’d also kick start my weight loss mission with a 15 hour fast – in reality this just means skipping breakfast.
Healthy vegetable and lentil soup made for dinner, with some olive bread courtesy of Tesco. For lunch, however, I’m meeting a friend at a farm shop cafe so my healthy eating plan may be ditched before it’s actually begun… watch this space!
