Across the Page (Poem 2019 – 6)

Across the Page

across the yellowed page
lie faded blurred lines
where shallow truth
sanitises memories
of a past long forgotten
hazy recollections
conflicting with lines on the page
the scribe’s version of history
tainted
by egocentric stories
staged half-truths
of fiction masquerading as facts
that remain written
across the page

  1. Reblogged this on A Guy Called Bloke and K9 Doodlepip! and commented:
Karen has penned a lovely poem here, which was inspired by the My Father’s diaries series and it is excellent and spot on the money in truth!

    Well worth the read 🙂

  2. Marvelously penned and beautifully expressed Karen, and so, so, so very true 🙂
