Watercolour 6 & 7

Looking at composition and the rule of thirds.

By drawing guide lines at one third and two thirds from top (horizontal) and left(vertical) we can identify the four points where the lines intersect. The focal point of a painting should correspond to one of these four points.

In this painting the bridge is the focal point and sits on the bottom left point.

Although my second painting is landscape the bottom left point is used again, and the base of the tower sits on this.

Both these were completed using watercolour pencils.
