Wow, 10 weeks into 2019 already and another week on the injury bench. I know I’ll get there eventually but this recovery is taking so, so, long.
With no running (or much else physical) to occupy my week, I’ve been busy dreaming about running, selling my race places, drawing/painting running shoes, and reinvesting my race place money into new running shoes… but as I covered most of that in yesterday’s post I’ll move swiftly on.
A little over a week ago the physio referred me to his superior in the dodgy leg department saying that either he’d phone me or I’d get a follow up appointment. Yesterday the appointment arrived, so on 20th March I see the orthopedic consultant (or a member of her team). I’m pleased this has come through relatively quickly as it feels like I’m questioning everything I do, worrying that it’s making my calf worse. I can manage another ten days of nothing as long as I get some hope from the appointment, and a plan of how exactly we’re going to fix this.
I’ve also been busy planning my challenge for next year (yes, I know it’s only March) and have decided on #20in2020. This means completing 20 races in 2020, and as it’s my challenge and my rules, I rule that parkrun is included. So, even in the unlikely event that I’m still not back running by then I should at least be able to complete 20 parkruns.
That’s about all I can come up with that’s running related, so until next week please enjoy a photo of my very pink new running shoes. K x
And yes they are the same ones from my artwork just in pink ❤
