Loud (Poem 2019 – 27)

stormy winds
raucous cries
whirling voices
noise despised
silence quashed
in bellows loud
jangling nerves
bustling crowd
echoes boom
inside my mind
conflict jarring
no peace I find
darkened skies
hide gentle calm
discordant roar
mental harm
as lost within
the demons speak
serenity drowned
by troubled sleep
nightmares rage
torment abates
tranquil dreams
bring restful state
