Art class

This week we are having a new kitchen fitted, the workman is great; he’s very tidy and gets on with the job. But as with anything that brings strangers into your home, it is very disruptive to my routine and my peaceful life. So it was great to be able to escape to art class this morning.

Last week we finished our windmill paintings and added some definition with ink.

Today we started on a very cute hedgehog using yellow ochre, burnt sienna, payne’s grey and ultramarine blue.

Wow, that’s amazing, Karen! I love the extra detail and fine lines to make distinctions on the windmill, you’ve done amazingly and it’s nice to see how it’s been coming along each week. The hedgehog is such a little cutie already!
Hope all goes as smoothly as possible with the new kitchen. What kind of design are you going for? Do we get to see photos? I’m so nosy 😉

Kitchen install has been pretty stress free, worktops delivered in 7-10 days and then need to get the tiling done. The rest of the house has so much kitchen stuff everywhere, but not as bad as it was before this weekend.

The word ultramarine brings me straight back to elementary school, although I can’t actually remember now if it was a crayon or a pencil crayon.

Maybe both. It’s a lovely colour.
