MIA

MIA – Missing In Action – that’s how I feel my life is at the moment.

I have lost focus and cannot organise myself sufficiently to regain it.

You know those days where you spend hours aimlessly scrolling the internet because you can’t do anything else.  It’s not that I have nothing to do, it’s more that the drive isn’t there.

I am a runner but a sore shin means that apart from races I’m resting, icing and keeping everything crossed that tonight’s 5k will be ok.

I am a writer but my creative drive has dwindled.  Two months ago I sent my manuscript All That Glitters to a publisher and I haven’t heard anything from them.  A lack of response is in some ways worse than a rejection, it’s the waiting and not knowing.

I am lots of things to lots of people, but right now I’m not sure I’m me.

I am a parent counting down the days to September.

I am going to regroup and come back stronger.

I Rise

The burning flames of destruction
Now extinguished
And I rise from the ashes
Like a phoenix, iridescent
Surrounded by a smouldering haze of heat
The darkness of the shadows replaced
By my illuminating light

      1. I was just thinking that, if I were in your position, I’d be cracking at the seams waiting to hear something and be thinking of dropping them an email or giving them a call. My fingers are crossed.
I hope you can take some time out this weekend to unplug your brain, get some rest and recuperation.. your spark will come back, it just needs some nurturing  ♥ xx
