Art update

Enthused by my success with the art class watercolour of the Gate House at Brockhampton, I decided I was good enough at painting to do a watercolour for my mum’s birthday. From an image I found on the internet, I spent a long time working on my first real solo painting.

A while ago I wrote about my attempts at pencil drawing, which you can find here. While I was visiting Somerset I spent some time working through some more images from the Bible of drawing and painting technique and I’m really pleased with the results, especially the donkey.

While I was in Somerset, we visited the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens in Wells where I took a lot of photographs to use as inspiration for some painting over the summer break.
