Art class is now on summer break

Our lovely and very talented art teacher added two more sessions to the term before the long summer break of about six weeks. In these classes we worked on painting based on another photograph she had taken during her visit to Brockhampton.

After two classes with a lot to finish at home
Completed painting

Although class is on a break I will most definitely be carrying on with watercolour painting until we start again in September, as well as pencil drawing and other artistic endevours.

  1. I love the simplicity of this, and yet the vibrancy is just so so alive – truly nicely done, will you be framing this?

Not sure, I’m a little unhappy with a couple of aspects of it! But that’s just my inner perfectionist being critical.

      1. Yes l can understand that, but perhaps even if you simply mounted it and had a small showcase of your work, as you progress you always have landmarks of your inspirations and what made you achieve more beauty no?

Definitely need to think about how to store all my paintings at the moment they’re simply stacked under the heavy weight of unused watercolour paper.

      3. Display them Karen – they are your inspiration πŸ™‚

You are your own inspiration, but your inspiration inspires you to further inspire yourself πŸ™‚

This is beautiful, and so sweet! I love the detailing and bright colours of the flowers 🌷This is something I’d happily have on the wall in my house! Maybe you should think of selling your art one day, Karen.. In the mean time, enjoy your own arty endeavours during the class break! xx
