a glance at your smile brightening the gloom
of a cold and empty, sorrowful room
the sound of your breath as you furrow your brow
thinking about us and how time’s ended now
the warmth of your bed now chill every night
missing your body we’d snuggle up tight
loneliness apparent through all humankind
missing you more than the ones left behind
my body is lost to untimely decay
my soul remains with you every day
