Good morning, as well as trying my very best to stick to a healthy diet I am trying to be more organised. Since my left/right brain dominance switched being organised has lost out to creativity, which is definitely not a problem.
Until I miss appointments, or turn up a day early, or forget to restock my meds.
I buy things that I’ve already got because I remember I was running short but forget that I’d already bought some more which explains my there were around eight spare bottles of squash (cordial) in the garage.
I now have grocery delivery contracts with Tesco and Ocado, as well as using My Vegan Supermarket and Good Club, and Riverford and Bridge Farm for organic fruit and veg. Easy to be organised there then… nope as I find myself adding to various baskets and never meeting the order threshold for any of them.
Earlier in the year we had a new kitchen put in, it was finished in May apart from the tiles. Three months later it is now tiled and is such a fabulous kitchen. We’ve moved from having stand alone appliances – cooker, fridge, washing machine, microwave in the kitchen and freezer in the garage, to integrated appliances – fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave and hob, with the washing machine now in the garage. And even though hubby was no.1 dishwasher, I totally love having a machine as well!
Next week work starts on converting the rear two-thirds of the garage into a utility room using the old kitchen units which are currently cluttering up the patio. Once this is done we’ll have so much more storage space which will enable me to bulk buy stuff with reduced packaging, and go slightly crazy making jam and pickling beetroot! But until it’s done we have to rehome all the junk that’s currently in the garage (including just a few bottles of squash!)
It’s going to be a jumbled few weeks, but totally worth it!
