Avoiding weekend derailment

Good morning and what a grey rainy morning it is in my part of England! Heating on and my companion sleeping on the windowsill all is peaceful here.

I’m meeting my younger son at the gym later and my very healthy salad is ready prepared for lunch when I get back. Butternut squash and lentil soup for dinner and a chunky slice of toast for supper.

Following a slight blip due to cake last weekend, I’ve been back healthy eating with a determination that would be worthy of a world class athlete. Well maybe I exaggerate, but I’m certainly trying my best, and for now my best is good enough as in the first week (and a bit) I’ve lost 2.2lbs in weight which is one whole kilogram. . . I’m impressed and happy that I’ve made a good start.

The challenge now is keeping it going over the weekend, which I can do if I plan. Knowing what I’m going to be cooking/eating takes the pressure off and makes it easier to stick to a plan. Let’s face it, just having a plan makes it easier to stick to a plan!

Two weeks (and a bit) to my target of -7lb by 13th October, I may not get there but I’m sure I can get close.
