How to Begin? (Poem 2019 – 64)

One of the hardest things as a creative is starting.

Finding that initial spark.

What shall I write a poem about?

Cats, Christmas, Love?  How can I choose?

What shall I paint?  Or draw?

Settling on a idea and starting is difficult.  Once that’s out of the way things become a lot easier!

Poem a day: day 19

How to Begin?

where do I start?
at the beginning
of course

but where?

follow a string
of coiled thoughts
entwined, knotted
tangled and coarse

a darkened maze
of rocky walls
twisted paths
we stumble and fall

the humid jungle
interwoven leaves
roots and branches
sowing seeds

imagination stems
from what we see
a hint of life
spawns creativity
