This is a lovely collection of poetry inspired by “love, loss and the beauty of the natural world” (via reflections on the love chocolate, I would add).
Horsley was born in Somerset and now lives in Cheshire with her husband and their two sons. She began writing poetry as a therapeutic means to express her emotions following treatment for breast cancer and subsequent depression and PTSD.
The poems are mostly short (a page or so long) and are written in simple language which emphasises Horsley’s message: that we need to look about us, take in and be thankful for the simple things in life.
This is a fine collection of sweet, inspiring, unpretentious poems.
