October 2018: When I started this blog in January 2018, my intention was to use it to raise awareness of mental health and document my progress in learning to run.
One week into blogging and my family went on a Sunday afternoon walk along the canal. It was a perfect winter day, the sun was shining, there was a chill in the air, a beautiful day and a beautiful place. On returning home I started a post about our walk and the thought occurred to me that my descriptive language was very poetic, so I turned what I had written into a poem, Winter Sun. An hour later and the response I had got was overwhelmingly positive, so I thought I’d try a second poem, Canal Life, which was also received well. The rest, as they say, is history!
Since that serendipitous day in January, I have written around 300 poems. My first collection of poetry, Kaleidoscopic Beauty was published in June 2018 and has already received fantastic reviews. My second collection I am the Stars in the Sky was published in October 2018.
My work also features in Further Within Darkness & Light, Breaking Free and Issues 1 & 5 of the magazine, Voice of Eve.
