Bird’s Eye View

Crowded streets below

Churning bodies jostle

Brushing past unaware

Focused on destination

Constant motion

Turning and swirling

A silent dance

Roads like patchwork

Vibrant blanket of colour

Dulled by smog

Lights gleam, unmoving

Yellow and red

Brightness obscured

By hazy fumes

Street lamps sparkle

Glowing golden orbs

Float over the crush

A bustling horde

Illuminated by

Dainty fairy lights

Guiding passage

Shops filled with riches

Eye catching displays

Entice treasure hunters

Dance interupted

Store bound

They twist

Weave like ribbons

Swooping lower, jarring

Chaotic melody arises

Guttural drumming

Growling engines

Trumpet horns shriek

Jabbering rabble

Recoil skyward
